This is a serious and inexplicable flaw in LR mobile. Anyone from Adobe listening here? Can we expect a fix?

I am not too fussed about it - yet. For me LR Mobile is for toying with JPEGS on the road. Between them being JPEGS, and with clarity and dehaze, all is good.

I could see where it may be an issue if I were dealing with RAW's on the road with, say, a Surface Pro. But then again I try and keep sharpening to a minimum.

It's an essential tool in any serious workflow. I can't imagine why they left it out. Too compute-costly? Adobe LRM not ready for prime time? Or, worse, some kind of marketing decision?

From what I understand there is a global capture sharpening applied (not user adjustable) when the RAW file is converted. JPEGs receive in-camera sharpening.

For CC subscribers sharpening is available as a local adjustment using the radial tool.

Plus, LRM 2.4 is released as a Technology Preview, so there is still development going on.

Thanks, jrh. It'd be strange to put sharpening under the radial filter tool. I can't check because, though I'm a CC subscriber, I use Android mobile devices, and it appears that that tool is currently only available on Apple machines. That LRM is still in T.P. mode is good to know. Still, I should think that sharpening would be one of the very first, not the last, of the"basic" workflow tools to include in LRM. Best, --Kevin

That's it. I quit. No more photography for me then. 🤓

I see LRM as a viewer accessory. I will admit I only spent a short time trying to edit with it but quickly decided it was not really intended for meaningful editing. Plus, since I am using an iPad, getting images it while traveling is a non trivial exercise

I mean to use Lightroom mobile for much more than viewing. I bought an inexpensive battery-powered wireless router that I can plug into my camera. With open source firmware installed on the router and an app running on my Android phone/tablet, I can control the camera remotely and (more important to me) have raw or jpeg files upload, as they're shot, from the camera to my tablet/phone. From there I want to do quick post-processing using Lightroom mobile, and then upload the results to a more-or-less live feed (e.g., Facebook, email lists, texts, Twitter, or a cloud-based gallery). This is why I'm interested in seeing LRM provide a full rather than a fun but only partial set of postprocessing functions.

Interesting idea. Something to think about for me.

You can connect for under $30 and a few minutes to install new firmware (on the router, not the camera body).
