Hi Kim,
That turtle must think it's a construction truck. That is a lovley photo along with the killdeer with the feathers out and the last of the frogs up to something, is that affection?
Morris
You are so right, Morris! I thought this pose really captured that weighted-down, lumbering along look and it was huge! My understanding of the frog interaction is that it is a bullfrog dominance tussle. Just when I thought things were really boring, the 'wrestling match' began! It lasted maybe 30 seconds and it wasn't 'til I downloaded the pictures that I noticed the two of them throat-to-throat. Apparently, that is a characteristic part of the dominance behavior.

Certainly not an otter disappointment Kim....super set of reptiles, amphibians and aves.

Well, it was just a little otter disappointment, but just a little. And I agree, I still had a good week with this haul! Thanks Eric.

Kim, your "slim pickins" are a treat. May not have found what you were looking for, but did make some nice finds.
Birdie
Thanks Birdie, good point. The upside to the lack of rain has been a whole string of good photo days in a row. Hopefully I'll have a few more 'right place, right time' experiences (and we'll get some good soaking rain).

Really nice set Kim, my faves are 2, 3, and 4... well done.
Kirk
Thanks Kirk. I was really surprised when that flotilla of mallard ducklings came out of the vegetated cover AND when the little Virginia rail did the same. Both / all were within a few feet of me!

nice variety Kim, I like the muddy snapper
Thank you Herb; I like that one too. More now that I can see it a little better than when I first took it (from maybe about 40 feet away).
