p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Estes Park Wedding

We moved to Colorado to shoot badass mountain weddings and we are shooting badass mountain weddings.
This was a pretty cool wedding. We camped afterwards in a field near where the ceremony was held.
Sun on the day of the wedding was absolutely insane. Really the only thing that was "ugh" about this wedding.
Comments/Crit gladly accepted.
Rehearsal then wedding

hahaha TONY!!!!
He did the bride's sister's wedding with us as well. The people at this wedding loved him. He is a great guy for sure. They danced behind him like that the whole time and I don't think he quite knew what to do. It is was hilarious.

This is very well done. I do feel like you could be a lot closer. You have some good moments here that could be great if you only took a few steps closer. Otherwise. Well done.

Very nice set Doug!

You are doing something that I have never been fearless enough to do. #42, 45, setting your light stand on the edge of the dance floor. I'm always trying to keep mine in a corner, behind the DJ or band. Somewhere where I think it will not trip someone or be knocked over by staggering guests. It seems like I'm always trying to get it behind everyone and everything. Ever have any problems with the stand being so up front like this?

Not really. We use those huge backdrop stands so they are fairly wide at the bottom and are quite large to begin with so people normally see them when they are in the way.
Also with the cheap ass Godox flashes or whatever they are if one takes the big fall I am not as worried as if I had a really expensive speedlight. Generally I just tell people to watch out and they steer clear. I move them around quite a bit to depending on who is where for what (toasts, first dances, cake, etc.).

I guess I just need to be more fearless. I think, from the looks of your phtos, that my stands are even bigger, 17', and have refective tape on the legs. There have been so many times that I wished that I had a light on the other side of the floor but was fearful of it tripping someone. If you can do it so can I

I think they go to like 13'...They are just standard backdrop stands like you would put a roll of paper on with the bar in the middle.
I don't any tape or anything on them either...that could just be a shadow or something funky in the shot.
They are pretty beat up from traveling. Sometimes they wont close fast enough when I have to move them so I am just like "F IT!" and carry them legs open haha. I have hit a few people doing that

Great shots.

Why is there so much grain in your outdoor B&W shots? You should be below 400 ISO on these. Grain added in post?
