One hummer taken last year and processed recently.

The other hummer and orcas were taken over the last couple of days. I rented the new DO II to see how it performs.

Sadly the orcas were mostly porpoising today, there were a few tail slaps and unfortunately several spy hops which I wasn't in a position to shoot from my vantage point on the boat.

C&C welcome!

Seeing an orca in the wild must be quite a thrill...even porpoising they are pretty formidable creatures. There was a video I saw last night of a pod of 20 orcas chasing a boat and literally getting within inches of the stern....talk about a close encounter!

1 and 3 are my picks Ryan. I wonder if you could remove the noise in the background of the hummer photos. The backgrounds in all add to the images

Lovely shots. Must be so thrilling to see the orcas.

Agree with Morris about the noise on the hummers

It is pretty awe inspiring to see them playing around and hunting. No wonder they are miserable in captivity.

I totally agree. I haven't figured out yet how to deal with background noise and not lose fine feather detail on the bird.

I see you use Lightroom. I believe the latest version supports selective sharpening and selective noise reduction. Google is your friend.
