I've owned the 24 1.4G and you are right about its rendering.. it's the most "3D" rendering lens I've used; the isolated wide angle look is just so unique, like a Brenizer look in one shot. But just like you, I found it too wide most of the time so I sold it. The next lens I tried was the Sigma 35 Art - an amazing lens, but the 35mm I felt was too close to the 50mm look, so I sold that too.
The best compromise between the two was the Nikon 28mm 1.8G. I really really loved that lens. The FOV was just perfect. If I wasn't much into MF lenses, I would've kept it. I sold it and bought the equally nice 28 2.8 AI-S, which is one of my main lens now....Show more →
