I scratched my beloved 16-35/4 lens shooting sand dunes and Canon wanted $600 to repair it. The scratch was minor and invisible at wider apertures so I decided it would replace my 17-40 lens for underwater shooting (I've since purchased another 16-35 for landscapes).
In any event, this is my first shoot with the 16-35 lens underwater. I'm still on the fence whether it's noticeably sharper. But I feel confident shooting at f/4 if necessary, which is a stop faster than I felt comfortable with the 17-40. I also made a video from this shoot which is on my FB page if anyone has any desire to see it (my first video ever....still learning). We also shot some pics of her in a mermaid outfit but I haven't posted any of those yet.
