I FINALLY decided on a camera and now want to buy the Nikon D750. I was torn between that and the Nikon D500. My sister let me borrow her 750 however and it worked GREAT for the sports shots I need. So now Im curious; where and when can I get the best deal on the 750 (camera body only)? I have a 50 mm 1.8 and 85 mm 1.8 and the 70-200 mm 2.8 to use with it already.

I got the best deal from Panamoz, I don't have an issue buying grey because I normally buy second hand anyway.

In the US I think you guys get 5-years warranty so that's a good reason to not go grey.

I saved roughly 30% so on my head be it.

I would get the body with the 24-120 kit lens. Can't beat it for the price that it goes for along with the D750. There was a special for body only to include a Nikon battery grip, but not sure if that is still going.

I would be willing to pay retail prices for a 5-year US warranty on a camera body, but I believe it's only 1 year. Lenses have a 5 year warranty.

So that being the case I would buy refurbished or used instead of new or grey. Cameta.com usually has the best refurbished deals.

Not much available right now. Even grey market are scarce. From Nikon Rumors;

"Many Nikon rebates, grey market and refurbished deals are now gone"

http://nikonrumors.com/2016/05/15/many-nikon-rebates-grey-market-and-refurbished-deals-are-now-gone.aspx/

Your best bet is probably to buy the Nikon D750 kit with 24-120 for $2,300.

B&H was actually showing out of stock on the D750 & D810, it looks like they are in stock now.

If you have a Best Buy credit card you can get back 5% in rewards, that will help offset a state tax. We also have state tax charged when buying from Amazon in Florida and Michigan now too, so more of a "level playing field" for Best Buy.

If you want to pay less than retail use greentoe.com. It has worked great for me.

Canadian ones come wth 2 years of Canadian warranty. But you'll have to send it back to get serviced.

Sports is my passion BUT I have 4 kids and shoot lots of pics for families and friends too. Im just a hobbies and don't make money from it. I have been shooting w a crop sensor and LOVED the full frame pics with the 750. I think the shutter is plenty fast enough for what I need right now. I actually wasn't too disappointed in my D3300 for sports pics last year until it came to low light and nt high school football games- this is where the 750 will def help out as well.
From what I have seen, the 750 is better for ISO/noise for nt games? Is that what you have found while comparing the 2?

From what I have
...Show more

i'm a couple years out from that (boy is almost 3) but the D500 loves long glass. 85mm and the 70-200mm give amazing images. and for me, the fps and buffer are like heroin; so soothing after practicing patience and timing due to the limits of the D750

but if you are happy with that aspect then no need to switch. lots of fans of the D500's high iso performance, but i can shoot the swing sets after sunset so i know the D750 is very good

yes, the 750 is better for ISO/noise for night games and will give higher DR there too

Seems like the D750 vs D500 is pretty close as far as DR and noise, per some of the dpreview samples I've seen. Very, very close in fact...

I'm also finally ready to buy the d750. I wish I had decided a few weeks back when there was the body available at $1300 on eBay ... Greentoe is an option but the discount is only ~6%
