The clarity of these images is outstanding! I really like the composition on the first image. These are wonderful images!

Another beautiful set. Your exposures are amazing showing the subtle color changes in those grays.

A very patient and cooperative species. Nice set Peter, especially #1. Nice overall colour on that one.

Thanx Ken, indeed, those birds do not fear humans much.

Thank you. I suppose they are somehow related to Loons, but I wouldn't know more than that.

Thank you kindly, Don.
The first Grebe shot was taken by Humber River East.
The second one is from Col. Samuel Smith Park.

Really..........handheld + 1.4x? That alone is amazing let alone the pristine detailing. Interesting how the catchlight in the water is more dominant than the subject. It's not often that I am comfortable with a full reflection of a subject but it is working here on this one. The shading on the cheek with white and silver-gray is wonderful. Superb post work and presentation.

Comps x2 work great Peter!

Karl, ole bean, you are very observant as usual. Much like yourself, I need to think twice about including bird reflections in my shots. Sometimes they work, more often they do not. The 800 is pretty heavy on its own, and adding a TC to it doesn't make it any better. However, I guess a few shots with the combo handheld are manageable.
Your comments are very much appreciated.
