This image was made during a 40+ mile backpacking trip into the incredible Wind River Range, in western Wyoming. Titcomb Basin, where this image was made, contains a string of glacial lakes and is surrounded by jagged granite peaks, many of them rising over 13,000ft. Being above treeline, it's a very exposed place to camp. After finding a somewhat sheltered spot to pitch the tent, I set out in front of a thunderstorm that was fast approaching. Unfortunately by the time I reached the outlet of the upper lake I didn't have much time to find the perfect composition before the thunderstorm closed in on me. I took this image minutes before taking shelter in some nearby boulders, while the powerful storm raged overhead.
Thanks for looking and for any thoughts!
