Very enjoyable and I agree that the file sizes should be small enough that we don't have to scroll up and down or back and forth to view the full image. I find 1000px for the long side works for me. I never heard that this or any camera is restricted to indoor studio use but what do I know? I particularly liked seeing the third shot so I could see the entire bird after the two closeups. Moire in the last or is that just a result of internet compression?

Sorry for the size, but the only way to show that Images are 100% sharp is to show them at full resolution. If you click on the images you see them in full resolution and the moir in the last shot is gone.....

No, it isn't. 1200 pixels wide at 100 ppi is plenty large enough for most people. Having to scroll to see an image that is posted too large just annoys a lot of people.

Is 100% sharp the opposite of 100% dull?

It would be helpful to know the ISO and fstop you shot these at?
I have been considering this camera and everything I read is that you get wobble and the images become unclear when hand holding.

I have been shooting Eastern Screech Owl with this combo also. Heck no, I love this for wildlife.

I think this may be off topic but I'm looking for some input.

I am trying to decide between a 5ds or a 1dxll. I am not a sports shooter, I'm a fine art shooter.
I am still shooting with, believe it or not a 1ds. I still love the images and I often shoot strobes.
My reason for a new camera is that my 1ds is at least 10 years old and I am getting more requests for images
That are 3ft to 5ft. The 3ft size is at the very limits of my 1ds and to me the images at that size are not of a high enough quality. I am use to the durability of the 1d series but I know the 5ds 50mps would be great. I have read a lot about this and people keep referring to wobble when taking a hand held shot that effects the sharpness of the image.
Also, the lens issue, I have a 24-105mm, which is my primary shooting lens. I've read that it isnt good enough for the camera.

My big question is can I print 5ft to 6ft prints from the 1dxll and get tack sharp prints when shooting hand held?

Thanks for listen to the rant,

Barry

Damn, the resolution and sharpness from that camera/lens combo is insane. Great shots

The 5DSR would crush the 1DX II when you print that big. Granted you could just look at it from further away, but the DPI you could achieve with the 50MP vs 20MP would allow you to look at a print the same size from a lot closer
