If the scan was scanned at 4000 ppi, which is a pretty common number off a drum scanner, that would translate to 67 inches wide at 298 dpi, or, roughly, 300 dpi, which is what most people would print most prints at given that most don't know what the native printhead res is on their printers. And you'd be really hard pressed to see any real difference between 300 dpi and 360 even though there *might* be a theoretical difference. You'd have to have a neg that was taken on a really sharp film like T-Max100 and shot optimally with a great lens just in order to justify a 4000 ppi scan, which is a healthy 1.8 gigs in 16bit RGB. I'm more surprised that someone at the library actually knew what settings to use just to get a decent print. I'd be really shocked if they knew how to access Advanced Black and White.
