Welcome to FM, Tony!

I dig this shot and I'm gonna wager that this isn't the dude's first smoke.

Maybe tighten things up a bit on the crop?

Some of the highlights look to be borderline blown, so maybe see if there is some hidden detail in the RAW.

Cheers!

Jeff

Tells a story nicely and I like Jeff's crop.

Great character. Love the textured wall behind the "textured" skin.
I prefer a bit tighter crop, maybe taking from the left (only).
Excellent image.

Looks a bit overcooked on USM / clarity to me. Kinda goes with Jeff @ borderline blown highlights (and halos) ... but some folks like that as an en vogue style.

I suspect there is plenty of detail in the RAW, and would prefer to see a more classic rendering than this style of processing. But that's just S&P to taste.

To my eye, the processing is stealing attention away from the subject / story / message ... thus the processing needs pulled back some. I dig the capture, just not the processing ... not yet, anyway.

Not so sure about that! I see an aged, textured and gritty scene. I agree that the processing was done with a mallet vs. a fine point chisel, but that all goes hand in hand with what kinda light I expect this guy to have lived.

But everyone has their coupla pennies, and those are mine.
