I was attracted to the contrast between the harsh, unattractive setting of this ranch and the awesome and majestic beauty of Mt. Adams just across the valley. Goldendale, Washington.

in general, Linda, I like the composition.
you might think about more contrast in the sky.
and the cloud at the mountain top is confusing but I am not sure what can be done there.
regards, tom

Thanks so much for your comments, Tom. The "cap" (lenticular) cloud hugging the summit is common with our volcanoes in Washington State, so I didn't give it a second thought

Contrast is good. The juxtaposition of the farm and mountain makes one do a double take. It appears at first glance that the mountain is actually a snow covered hill (with a cloud) in the farm's back yard.

Aside from the sky, a crop removing most of the road in the foreground, turning the shot into a pano might make it a stronger shot. If possible, if there is an angle that omits or hides the power lines (tower). I waste more time trying to clone things like that out....

Rugged and harsh piece of land, very adequately shown. Pity about the high voltage power line, but the lenticular cloud sitting atop the mountain is a bonus.

Dang, I really like this shot but I only wish we could make the electrical lines go away. For me personally I might back off the whites a tad. Having said all that let me return to the fact that I really do like your capture!
Good work,
Greg

Greg and Ray, thank you so much for your comments!

Greg, I understand about the electric tower and wires. Probably could clone out fairly easily. It's part of the overall story for me, though I admit I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't there is real life
