p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Polarizers for water sports

I have the opportunity to shoot some water sports such as water skiing, wake boards, boat and personal watercraft races. I will be able to shoot from a boat and the banks.

How important would polarizers be for shooting these sports in the water. I plan on using 70-200 and sigma 150-600 sport mostly.

Haven't' shot water sports as you will but my guess would be it depends...polarizers generally work best perpendicular to the sun...if you need to shoot many angles then you need time to adjust the polarizer or you will have a wide variety of looks so it may be helpful (or may not).

I shoot all my swimming with a polarizer on, So Cal, outdoor pools, bright sunshine. The glare off the water can get pretty intense, the polarizer really helps. I just think of it as sunglasses for the camera.
