Sucking on his finger trying to get every bit of orange he can - the little dude went crazy for fruit!

C&C please. Curious about the crop (barely cropped), temperature and the overall picture.

Thanks!

Jeff

I like the pose, the lighting, the expression (the lens..). I think you could crop a tad off the top, leaving pretty much the same format.
Skin tones are hard for me. Looks like pretty warm light but I can't tell if any adjustment is needed for "accuracy" besides keeping the warm look. BG shadows, color and softness all work well.

I think the color shows the time of day very nicely ... which coordinates with his specular catchlights and the long shadow.

I might look to crop up from the bottom just a tad (just below the elbow crease) as the angles formed make an arrow pointing downward a bit. Square that off a touch and it become more of a horizontal "stop" line rather than a "go" out of the frame leader. The action is up, not down so I might look to mitigate that a touch ... but, not critical by any means.

Great job, I can't suggest anything here.

Thanks Scott - some could probably come off the top, but man I love his hair! Very warm light - probably about 45 minutes or so before sunset.

Spot on with the time of day, Kent, as always! Thanks for the cropping tips. I agree that the action is up, but a distraction is a distraction!

Thanks Ben - it's not terribly difficult when the subjects are so great.

Damn dude! You are killing it with your Portrait work. Nice job!

I was going to nit on the shallow DOF but I think that's what makes this such a killer image. So never mind.

I hear what Kent is saying on the elbow thing and it does make sense but IMHO I think his finger pointing far out pulls the eye right smack back at the money shot area.

Cool shot Jeff!

Not sure yet how I'd go about it just yet ... but, I want to do something with his sleeve button loop area to bring out the "tough guy" of his flexed arm.

Maybe some mono attitude ... ala the new generation of James Dean.

Also cloned out the bit in the lower-left corner.

Well, maybe a few more years before he is ready for the James Dean look.

Color takes the prize here, I think.
