p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · After the hops are harvested

The Yakima Valley produces 75% of the hops grown in the U.S. I've lived here 13 years now, but continue to be fascinated by the poles, twine and knots (left when vertically grown vines are cut). I appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

I have driven through here several times but always in the growing season. Good eye for the pattern.

The more I look at this the more I like it.

I really dig the poles drawing the eyes through the scene vertically and the horizontals of the hop lines give some interesting contrast.

The hops remnants themselves almost seems like musical notations or sanskrit/farsi.

I think I'd like a little more foreground to act as an anchor if available.

Consider converting to mono for a less 'pleasing' but more stark look IMO.

Cheers!

Jeff

Love it.
I prefer the color with its soft pastels, but the BW stands on it's own.
Excellent POV, use of repeating elements
I like Jeff's comments about musical notation, Sanskrit. Reads across the top almost like a scroll.

Mono for me ... some aged toning @ parchment (i.e. not sepia) might bring it to a diff vibe

Musical notes or Declaration of Independence, etc.

Jeff, Scott and RustyBug - thank you so much for your feedback!

I don't have any more foreground to use as anchor; great suggestion for next time

I'm delighted some of you mentioned musical notes. I have many "hops apparatus" photos I've shared on other sites, and every single time, someone has mentioned that. So cool.

I didn't try b&w on this because I have several other shots (different locations, in fog, and other) that I've already converted to b&w + I liked the blue sky and color of the light. BUT - I like this version! So I appreciate the time and posted conversion, as well as for a suggestion of aged parchment.

All your comments and suggestions are super. Again, many thanks!
