This brings to mind a discussion about the advisability and correctness of photographers adding titles to their photos. I'm assuming, I hope correctly, that Gone Dog is a pet that has passed, and that the collar and leash hanging close to the front door are a daily reminder of your loss of a member of your family.

Without the title, I think you might lose a lot of people in understanding the meaning of your photo. Either way, I like what you've done. By the way, I make it a habit to title all my photos, whether I make those titles public or not. It's a way of crystalizing what the photo is all about for me.

I'm a big fan of appropriate titles - just be careful because a wrong/misleading/inaccurate title can absolutely ruin an otherwise great shot!

Doug, I dig the shot and it carries a large emotional impact for me. Losing pets is something that I've never taken easily. Just thinking about the circumstances behind this picture are pulling my heartstrings.

Technically I'd like the frame pulled back a bit and I'd look to lose or lessen the vignette.

Cheers!

Jeff

Image wise I like this shot and think you did very well.
Message wise... not so much.

I'm a huge dog lover and like Jeff, the title hits home in a sad painful way.

Powerful image.

Thank you all for your comments. I believe that anytime, you can get an emotional reaction to a photograph, it is a good effort.
The search goes on for a replacement.

You'll likely never find a replacement. You WILL find a new friend though.

And yes, you certainly evoked an emotional reaction with this image.

Sorry for your loss Doug.
