The Bufflehead is the smallest of all diver ducks in North America, and in my mind, by far the cutest. They remind me of little bathtub duckies.

Images captured hand held with 7D MkII, 100-400 v.II + 1.4xTC v.II and all heavily cropped.

I'm with you. Love Buffleheads. Nice job on these, especially with the exposures. All too easy to blow the highlights on these little guys.

Thanks, Don. These were taken in late November but the plumage is still the same. I have never seen it change with seasons.

Congrats on this nice opportunity Harvey, they winter here in SoCal but are skittish and difficult to get close to.
1 and 3 are my favorites... well done.
