The indri is the largest of the surviving lemurs. It is incredibly appealing and the young even more so.
They are also very difficult to photograph as they stay in the trees 100% of the time, often in the high canopy, behind vegetation in very dark and often backlit positions. I spent several days following them and managed a variety of behavioural shots, sometimes using flash.
Their call is haunting and can be heard foe over 3 kilometres (that's 2 miles).
