Amazing photos, Eric! Combining the snow foreground with the starry sky and Northern Lights makes a wonderful composition!
Gene
Thanks Gene...I was trying to get good compositions but it isn't so easy in the dark...glad you liked this one

Fantastic images , Eric . Another item to my bucket list.
Thanks for sharing,
Jim
Thanks Jim...and yes the experience seeing it live is quite amazing....lots of "wows" from my son and me over about 3-4 hours.

Absolutely awesome Eric.
Thanks Louie...it is a spectacle that I am really happy I've now gotten to see...never realized just how magical it was.

Wow, can only imagine how wonderful it must be to see this.
Birdie
Thanks Birdie, yes in person it is quite special....and unlike most of my nature photography where I spend lots of time looking through a viewfinder, the long exposures actually give one much more time to really appreciate the spectacle.

Great exposure. Foreground is good, lights are bright and the stars are still points and not streaks.
Don
Thanks Don...got lucky with the weather...the clear skies and the fact the wind died down considerably made it possible to get crisper images.

Jim
Thanks Jim...I can only tell you this is in Iceland....the names are too hard to remember....maybe the only time I wish I had GPS in my camera.

Spectacular. I wouldn't even know how to begin to take anything like this.
Thanks and oddly it is actually quite easy to get decent shots....the starting point would be a 30s shutter speed, f4, ISO 1600....I used a 16-35mm lens and almost always had it all the way at the wide end as the whole sky was illuminated....a tripod obviously is a must...found it funny that people tried to take flash photos of it!
