p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nikon version of ST-E2?

About a year ago I hopped on over to the Nikon side of life after having previously using Canon. One of the things I used to use was an ST-E2... but not for flash purposes... I used it as an AF assist when in low light...

I was wondering if Nikon had something similar? I know I can set my SB900 to AF assist mode only but that would be a lot of extra bulk and size for JUST AF assist, and there re times when I do not need or want flash but love the added accuracy of AF assist - and the silly little AF assist lamp on the D750 is practically useless for most all lenses I own

Wow, no kidding! Well using SU-800 for a search term also brought me to the Debao SU-800... apparently a 3rd party SU-800 inside an ST-E2 shell.. but ouch those prices! http://www.amazon.com/SU-800-Wireless-Speedlight-Commander-Trigger/dp/B00DJ7720M#customerReviews Although ebay seems to have far lower prices...

The different profile for the SU-800 provides a display on the unit showing the settings for the 3 flash groups which I have found easier to use to make settings changes than the ST-E2 which I have also owned and used.
