For those who already own the X-E2, of course. New firmware v4.0 is out, adding a laundry list of new features, and effectively turning it into the yet to be released X-E2s. Essentially every feature of the X-T10 is included, including the new AF system, rotation of information in the EVF in portrait mode, customizable Q menu, electronic shutter, and many more things. Upgraded my X-E2 and there's a big improvement in focus speed, and I know from using the X-T10 and v4 on my X-T1 for the past several months that the new AF system tracks better and just does a generally great job.

Tempting to pick up one used at $375 or I just saw a new one with the 18-55 for $675 at Massdrop.com. Kudos to Fuji. Just wish they'd sort out video!

I was anxiously waiting for this as much as my new A7II to arrive.

NOW I feel like I upgraded from the X-Pro1!

Can't wait to take the camera for some street shooting.

Hi Jordan.

First thing I saw on my calendar today was, "download new X-E2 FW". Thanks for posting the link. Makes it super-easy.

Just thinking about this has me remembering the great ease* and joy** of a Fuji X firmware update.

*Says a Sony shooter, for whom a firmware update is a fear-ridden, proper-cable-questing, witch's brew combination of steps and hardware, sprinkled with a bit of voodoo and a fistful of quantum uncertainty regarding the collapse of the wave equation states and therefore possible outcomes between update, no update, and brick.**

Hahahahahaha! I love this forum.

Very tempting body now, esp. with the 27/2.8 or the 35/2. Go Fuji!

Why any sensible person waits for a while to see what any new FW actually brings to the table! I say this as the first person in the world who posted on a FW update to Final Cut Pro that stopped Log and Capture working, pretty much THE most fundamental function ... As they say in Japan where I lived for quite a while,

saru mo ki kara ochiru

"Even monkeys fall from trees".

If you read the thread, you'd know that this was most likely a hardware issue and is not related to the firmware update (it was just coincidental). This is a known symptom of connection issues with the lens mount contacts.

18/2 and 35/2 (the 18 is wildly underrated, great lens for anything except landscape, quite good for landscape).

Almost makes me wish I'd kept the X-A1 and my 18, except for all the X-Trans fun. I do love that Fuji glass.

Quoted for truth. Sony firmware updates are scary. Luckily for us, Sony rarely improves their cameras via firmware!!!

FUJIFILM X-E2S key features:

• 16MP - APS-C CMOS Sensor
• No Anti-aliasing (AA) filter
• ISO 100 - 51200
• 3″ Fixed Type Screen
• 2360k dot Electronic viewfinder
• 7.0 fps continuous shooting
• 1920 x 1080 video resolution
• No Optical low-pass (anti-aliasing) filter
• Built-in Wireless

Hmmm...all I was looking for? You mean essentially the same 16 MP sensor that has been in numerous Fuji bodies for the last 4 to 5 years?
