Since (1) No one knows what specs it will have (or even if it exists), (2) No idea of cost, (3) No clue about performance both optically and thru put, I can't see how any intelligent - as opposed to some fantasy mutterings - one can even have an opinion. Just an opinion of course

I think we are basing our opinions on the specs and pictures leaked yesterday by digicame-info. Over the past 8 years that I've owned a DSLR, one thing I've found very consistent is that when digicame-info releases specs and pictures a few days before an announcement date (been confirmed by many as Feb 1 (N.A.) Feb 2 (Australia)) that they have been correct every time. Of course there are still aspects about the price and the actual performance like the new AF algorithms that we don't know but then again performance info is almost impossible to know until you actually buy the thing and use it or wait for a bunch of real users on the forum to post their experiences. Of course all the Canon Explorer of Light articles that will be released next week will say it is the best thing in the world.
With that said, based on the specs from yesterday, I am still on the fence. Price will play a big part especially being in Canada and having our dollar so weak. If it is $8000 or more then I will save that money for the 600DO instead.
However, based on the specs the reason I would buy the 1DXII to replace my 1DX is the wider spread of the AF points and that all AF points can be used at f/8. I use a fair amount of f/8 combos (100-400II +1.4TC, 600II +2xTC and 200-400 with two 1.4TCs) so having 61 f/8 points and more importantly the use of all the AF modes like Expansion and Zone with f/8 would be a huge benefit to me.
14FPS is fine, don't really care to much about that. Don't care about 4K and video. 20MPs is okay but I would have liked 24-28 for more cropping. Low ISO DR doesn't matter to me. High ISO DR and Noise does matter and that will be impossible to tell until some non-biased reviews come in. We know the upper limit of ISO hasn't been increased but the expanded limit has so who knows??
