p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · D600 Warranty Question

Nikon replace my shutter box 2 years ago for oil and dust. I sent the camera back last week for oil spots. Also, the camera would show a dim or no picture after actuation. I got a estimated charge of $240 for repairs.

Is this a charge I should pay or should Nikon be fixing for free?

Thanks

It says here that if after having the shutter replaced, and you're still getting the spots, that they'll replace the camera.
I would give them a call.

you should tell them the oil came back quickly after replacement but you couldn't afford sending it back again and go without a camera till now.

Nikon will only fix the oil spots for free but if your camera has other issues then they will charge you for it.

I called Nikon and the person didn't know exactly what the charges are for. He did say if they replace the shutter box again that there is no charge. He did say that once the repairs are made then I will know exactly what the charges are for.

I don't think fixing the dim/no picture during preview should cost $240. I'll call them back once I get the camera back.

Thanks for the replies!!
