p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Get 1x3" or 1x4" stripbox?

Hi,

I would like a to get 2 stripboxs for headshots and maybe half-lengths or hair light. I found a deal on a RFI 1x3" but wondering if 1x4 is more versatile. The 1x6 is too big for my location work. Which do you find is best. 1x3 or 1x4. Is there a big difference? Thanks.

The only time a longer strip box will make a difference will the length of the shot. If you are going to use it primarily for head shots, hair, and rim lighting, the 3' is fine. Grids will be less money also. But 3' is a little short for 3/4 and full length shots. Or, get one of each.

Thanks. i got an open box 1x3 for $170. I would like to get another used one in the future so the cost of grids+second 1x3 will be significant compared to 1x4. Thanks.

Look at Fotodiox stripboxes. They are not Profoto quality but still have decent quality and are very cheap.
