What do you think about a tree in the background? I wonder if I should remove it. Appreciate your thoughts and any other suggestions to improve this image.

The tree works, I can go either way, but I prefer to leave stuff that does not detract.

I vote tree also. In part because it was actually there :-) I can understand the concern that it might draw the eye out of the frame but I think it adds a nice secondary point of interest. I would darken the rocks along the bottom though. Beautiful shot and I like the texture of the water.

+1 for tree. I agree with secondary point of interest. I like to think of things like that as a little something extra given to the viewer after taken in the main subject. The Louisiana notion of lagniappe
