Hey Reggie,
Much like Ice Man at the end of Top Gun to Maverick, I'd be your wingman/second shooter anytime! Thanks for having me that day; Hair/makeup went over like you mentioned, but I think that we got the job done :-)
Really pleased how this turned out, especially considering that light during the ceremony was tough in spots. I'd say that you have a really good handle on the off camera lighting stuff, where I'd call it a strength compared to most. I'm with SloPhoto, crazy progress considering how infrequently you've been able to shoot. I basically put myself on the bad side of a healthy wedding/life balance the past year and a half, and considering the strides you've taken, I should be much better.
I'm with Cal166 regarding a few of the photos where the texture of the skin was a bit rough, but I"m not sure how much you could do with that other than changing the way you edit (i.e. backoff the clarity/contrast/sharpness a bunch) sacrificing your "look" and perhaps set consistency. I really only noticed in a couple of shots (5,49,51) anyhow.
As far as crits:
1) I would have her mover her head to her right so that her face might catch the light better; this looks even on her face, but the shadow makes her look like she has a strange profile on first glance
2) maybe straighten the straps better next time
3) this is money. This show gives me a great sense of what it was like in that room, who was there, and what was happening.
4) I probalby should have shot this to crop out her bracing against the wardrobe; I think that I might leave this out since it's a bit of an odd pose. Though, I can see a great argument for keeping it in.
6) I think tha I would corp out the edges of the window/drapes so that it's just a white background. Not sure if showing the walls really add much of a frame to the shot, just alittle distracting to me
10) Nice portrait of the groom
12) This is what it's about man, this is wonderful. Sitting here feeling tears come on a bit. no lie.
14) cool diptych
16) nice establishing shot
17) good moment
21) I think this gives a good sense of place showing what is behind and down the hill from them, though I find it a bit distracting. I might have shot from a lower position to hide the stuff down below behind the edge of the hill. Admittedly, that might be more of a stylistic concern, but I think that I would have tried to clone out the branch that is intersecting with their heads.
22) I think that she appears a bit wide here since she's faced into the light a bit too much...i think that I would have had her turn her body away from the light slightly so that at half her body would be in shadow, and maybe even have her cross her legs to give more curve in the hips and still have her look back at him. Dunno, just me?
29) nice stuff
46) i just like the sass
49) I thin I might have tried to get rid of a couple of the darker spots on her cheek
51) nice way to end, this looks good
Overall, good set dude. I know that there were many parts of the day that were working against you and weren't under your control, but I'm sure they're really pleased with what they got back. You did justice and more to their venues and got some great moments.
