It's that time of year again. Sentimental favs, images that taught you something or served as a watershed moment for your photography, and/or images that exemplify who you were as a photographer in 2015 are welcome here. A brief explanation of why you chose what you chose to post will be appreciated. I'm fine with the inclusion of Canon-on-Canon and Nikon-on-Nikon (only fair, since there will be Oly-on-Oly, Panny-on-Panny, Sony-on-Sony, Leica-on-Leica, etc) but, out of respect for the forum, I do ask that, at minimum, one of your shots be taken with an adapted lens.

My contribution...

a7II_Distagon28_Run by Bradley Clemens, on Flickr

One of my personal favs, taken with the a7II and C/Y Distagon 28/2.8. Solitude is underrated.

a7_Actus_Rode_135_SunsetsLastGasp by Bradley Clemens, on Flickr

This six-shot pano with the a7m, Cambo Actus, and Rodenstock 135 has become my personal reset button. When I've got too much going on and my head's cluttered, I stare at this until all the noise goes away.

a7II_Rode_APO50_LifeandDeath by Bradley Clemens, on Flickr

This one was with the a7II and Rodenstock APO 50. I love the juxtaposition of the thriving algae with the dying reeds , but it wasn't until I printed it that I appreciated the near perfect transparency of the lens.

a7II_Elmarit35_MyBoys by Bradley Clemens, on Flickr

Finally, my little shadows, as shot with a7II and Elmarit-R 35.

2015 was overall a light year for me and photography. I didn't get to do much dedicated photography for most of the middle of the year, with between weather and being busy with other things, eg moving. We did do a fair amount of traveling though, which was good.

First time visiting Finland, and the landscape is similar in many ways to the Pacific Northwest. Just flatter!

A good memory from my trip to Victoria BC

My first time hiking down into Haleakala crater, it was very cloudy but that did make for some dramatic photographs.

Technically, I screwed up my photos of the Blood Moon because I forgot that longer exposures would blur the moon. But I am happy with how this turned out, how it shows the 3D nature of that thing floating up there.

So that's the kind of stuff I like taking, and I'm happy there were a few sunny days when I had the time to go out and do what I like.

A little tribute to Ulff! I don't see many staircases like that around Seattle, this one was in Helsinki.

Finally, this one makes me happy because I'm generally not very good at street photography involving people, and this one turned out great.

As a high school sports photographer, I compete with parents with similar or better gear than myself. I have to differentiate on how I use the equipment, access, skill, perspective of subject, and editing results.

Yet, because I think I see differently than most parents, I can anticipate as well as imagine. So, I added a new lens: Rokinon 8mm Fisheye this year. Not may sports photographers at the high school level use anything other than a 70-200 (only 3 or 4 have a 300) so my fisheye shots are completely different in my market.

I have used these iamges in many other threads, but they are applicable to the topics)

Great photos so far! It's great to hear about everyone's photographic/personal adventures in the prior year.

For me this was a year of transitions. Transitioning from being an undergraduate student, to a working professional, to applying to graduate schools and living in a new city. So, for quite a while photography got pushed aside. But early in the summer I went to an Obon festival in Salt Lake that really helped me rediscover my excitement for photography.

Why I selected these photos:
[1] and [2]: the images from the festival that really excited me about photography.
: received my first telephoto lens which really opened up new opportunities.
[4]: one of my most recent photos, which I hope shows that I am coming along in evoking a "mood" into my photography.

I love the contributions, guys.

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas. If you're in the northern hemisphere, I hope you find yourself safe and warm with family and friends. If you're in the southern hemisphere, why are you reading this? Shouldn't you be on a beach somewhere?
