Hi everyone. Looking forward to arrival of Tokina 10-17 fisheye. Anyone familiar with options for post processing:

-perhaps pulling out rectilinear shots once in a while
-getting rid of purple fringing that I read about

Both pc and iOS ideas and SAMPLES would be appreciated!

Hi,

I do not have any examples from that lens but some useful utlities besides the lens correction in camera raw/lightroom, and other raw processing software.

The plugin Hemi can do a decent job:

For another type of defishing, there is Ptgui, a bit more complex but doable.

DXO perspective might also do it.

I don't know if this is still being maintained:

It really depends on how much of the fisheye effect is captured in the image. Since I am not familiar with that lens I can only recommend the software above.

Hope this helps.

I'll try and dig up some shots from the 10-17 from when I had it on my 30D many moons ago. It's a really fun lens. At 17mm it's really not too far off rectilinear. It's more like a typical Wide angle with bad barrel distortion, but it can be corrected easily with typical distortion tools. The PF can be significant but Lightroom removes it quite well in most cases.

Hemi plugin looks promising. Is it still being updated regularly?
