Today is Santacon day in NYC with hordes of young people bar hopping and celebrating the season, many dressed in Santa regalia. Quite a scene to see.

Your critiques and suggestions appreciated.

I am not knowledgeable on street photography and can only imagine the difficulty of getting all the elements in harmony. Heck that hard enough with landscapes and lots of time.

In this one, it looks great for exposure, sharpness post processing and all the technicals. I can only see two nits. 1. tight on the ends, especially the right and 2, the head behind the right side girl.

Ok, missed the second one. It seems a bit flat.

HI Ben, and agree with your posting. It's a miracle when everything falls into place with this kind of fast photography.

Number 1 they posed for me, Number 2 was a candid shot, although the young lady gave me her great smile.

1 feels too tight and staged for me. Fun group, but I feel left wanting more.

2 is way more of a complete shot to me, but part of me wants to minimize the group of dudes in the background and focus on the couple. I hate to cut the nice restaurant/bar background out, but maybe going vertical and isolating the couple would be a good move here. Their connection with the camera is your primary focus IMO.

Must be nice having such a rich street photography city to shoot in!

Cheers,

Jeff

Another photo, more breathing room.

For Street Photographers, NYC is a paradise. Something akin to the many landscape photographers that post here that live close to gds country.

Fun shots all around, Steve! Two Revelers is still my favorite of the bunch.
