p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Flash for wildlife questions

Hi everyone, I've been wanting to experiment more with using a flash for wildlife especially with how dark it is this time of year. I tried using flash with a better beamer back in the beginning of summer but I feel like I was missing something...my favorite thing to shoot is wildlife in action so anything with BIF, animals fighting over territory, catching prey, etc. A lot of wildlife action photography is spray'n'pray with max FPS for sometimes 10-100+ shots. I guess what I felt I was missing is the ability to shoot high FPS with a flash and instead I had to hope for the best to get the perfect shot, not an ideal way to shoot. Am I missing something? What are others doing to successfully utilize flash with wildlife action? Thanks!

Contact Morris Altman on the Nature and wildlife forum here. He uses it often and has in the past been very helpful with this subject..
