p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · MH-25a input voltage question - traveling overseas

Just being cautious here, but I'm preparing to head to Europe with my D810 and I was reading the label on the back of the MH-25a charger.

I was looking for input voltage to be specified at 120-240V, indicating that all I need is a plug converter.

The charger has a line that says "Input 120-240V", but then a line below reading "Input 120V"

There's also a smaller line specifying "foreign power input AC 120-240"

I'm assuming I'm good to go for 240V outlets, but just wanted to confirm from those with experience so I don't fry my charger!

I've used my MH-25 (D800 charger) on 240v without problems. It has the exact same markings on the back as shown in your pic.

The charger is rated 100-240VAC on the label, so that should be OK anywhere.
I don't know why you are stating 120-240V as that would not work in Japan which obviously uses 100V.
There is a current rating of 0.2A specifically at 120V/60Hz,probbaly for UL or other regulatory reasons.
The current would be lower at 240V, but is negligible for practical purposes.

they build one variable input charger rather then one for here one for there. enjoy ot it is a wonderful thing all you need to do is adapt the plug itself to the wall socket. I've used them all over Asia, Europe, AU and NZ. you will not smoke it unless you go to some off the wall country that has no stabilized voltage system. of course you will read up on the countries first.

you only have to buy a new power cable with right connecter, best to buy in the countries you are visiting, UK is different from most of the mainland.
