p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Waist Belt Holster?

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts about using a Cotton Carrier or some other waist belt holster to hold a Nikon D7200 w/ 80-400mm lens? I can see some situations where I'd like to have that camera at my side, but I'm not sure about the size & weight of that body-lens combination in a holster. Comments?

I use Sony, not Nikon, but the ThinkTank belt system is excellent, especially with the shoulder harness. I have the "Pro" or middle of the line belt which is padded and comfortable. The largest belt is very heavy duty. I also have the lightest, unpadded belt which works well if I take a lightweight kit. It is also good if I don't take any photo gear, e.g. binoculars, field guide, water bottle.

If you use a grip, SpiderHolster is a preferred way to go since it hangs upside down.

ThinkTank or Vanguard - Vanguard (nice bags) on a ThinkTank speedbelt or similar.

I've used the most recent Cotton Carrier holster with a Canon 1D IV + 70-200 2.8; I don't know how that weight compares to your Nikon combination, but it's pretty heavy. It was a bit cumbersome, but it did work. It was secure enough - no problem there.
