p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A couple of B/W conversions

None of them have anything in common other than that I took all the images. They all come from different times in my life. Just decided to work on them in the last few days. Slightly different processing in all of them. Thoughts on what works and what doesn't are welcome

I am not a B&W guy, but I prefer the processing on the sax players.

I am with Ben on these. The last image of the sax player is by far my favorite. Next would be the second image, but there is way too much uninteresting background.

The first image shows an interesting gesture, but again it would benefit from heavy cropping, better processing including more contrast. As for #3, well, I cannot find much positive to say.

The first one with the saxophone player is definitely my favorite, but I would prefer it a little less gritty. My favorite thing about the image is the contrast of the man's attire as well as the jazzy nature of the saxophone with the otherwise soft, quiet background. There's nothing uninteresting to me about pier, ocean, and seagull--especially as they interact with the main subject!

First has a well timed candid with great expression
I prefer more contrast but that is a personal preference
Maybe a bit tighter from the left?

Second works for me
I like the processing and background is fine IMO
Might crop a bit from the top, at the expense of the bird

Third is a snap, no more.

Last works nicely and again I like the processing
While the intersecting metal crossbars provide context and I suppose some leading lines, I'd clone out the one emerging from his shoulder
