This morning was quite foggy, which prompted me to get up early and drive to this barn in Franklin, TN. Still trying to catch a morning with fog floating just above the water. Sony A7II and Loxia 50/2 @ f/5.6.

I'm likin' this a lot Doug. But then, I'm a sucker for old barns! Well captured.

I usually like more contrast, but this works well. good processing.

Beautifully done, it almost looks like a charcoal sketch, good work.

I also like the old barns.

Good composition with the silo strong and vertical on the right "fortifying" the barn.

I think the lighter contrast works here since it is a foggy situation, but I'd also like to see a version with more contrast.

I usually go with my first impression which is more emotional, rather than my later impressions which end of being very analytical. In this case my first impression was very favorable.

Nice work either way.

Tom, I agree in usually preferring more contrast in B&W. I tried that while processing the image, and it didn't feel right because it no longer looked like the foggy scene I experienced. In fact, even the amount of contrast I brought in took some of the overall misty feel of that morning away, but it would be too flat if I processed it completely as I saw it.

Thanks all for the feedback.
