And Tony, you must have arms of steel to use those incredibly low shutter speeds; beautifully sharp, and at 560mm!

Even on the little 700D, the IS on the v. II ... it really does add a new realm of capability. Hand holding the 100-400 II + TC balances (imo) better than hand holding the Sigma 150-600 also (had both @ same time for about 3 months). Granted, the Sigma gets to 600 @ f/6.3, while the Canon combo gets to 560 @ f/8 ... but, for me I couldn't hold the larger glass of the Sigma (on the far end of things) as well as I can by slipping the TC next to the body. Even though the math would suggest a need for a slower shutter, the gain in my stability was greater than the 2/3 stop light loss (and offset by the IS also).
To be fair to Sigma ... I never got the dock, so the max possible gains on OS there weren't something I tried. But, shooting without the IS / OS ... big diff on how I could handle the Siggy vs. the Canon. I just figure that stability diff contributes to IS / OS use too.
I compared moonshots with each setup and found my stability was better with the Canon + TC ... and definitely no "arms of steel" here.
My 7D2 is on it's way from Canon. Good to know it has the "master" seal of approval for use with the 100-400L II.
