Yes, River Street retains a gritty veneer. I suspect in part because the river is 20 feet to the right, and, time of year depending, most of the buildings face generally north. I'm guessing the elevation to the city is 20 feet above River Street. Cobbles and sand add extra flavor. Fascinating to think the large stones and cobbles were originally ballast in old merchant ships. Brick would have been all locally made and fired.
Glad you enjoy the image, a neat place, especially during the off-season (my preferences anyway).

I'm not sure either but the facade looked similar. At first I thought a building off an alley (recall the green door?) - the alley which I was unable to locate on this later visit. Lots of SCAD tags and graffiti come to mind also. Next time
