I am guessing most of you would clone out the signs. Apart from that other thoughts?

Yep, why do they spoil these old bridges with signe like this, most covered bridges have signs too. I would clone out the power line or simply crop below it. You have a nice image here.

My take would be more shadow lift and more saturation, but this is your image not mine. That sort of thing is a personal choice.

thanks Ben. Shadows lifted quite a bit but I will play.
Somehow I forgot about the lines. Why we all need extra eyes!

+1 @ crop down ... power line, and the patch of blue sky just pulls us away from the real subject, imo.

Crop to just below the sky (or close to) and I think it also puts scale emphasis on the lines of the bridge as well, so you get a kind of double benefit @ -detractor & +subject.

Thx Kent, Ben

Yep, I like it better, but of course the signs have to go. I bet you want to get closer to finished before tackling that job, I know I would.

I'll never print this one, Ben, so I don't think I will spend the time on the signs. Unless I am up for practice with PS.

I once spent a couple hours taking graffiti off a bridge. In fact I did that a couple times. The bridge was a classic old time concrete arch from the 1930's and was schedules for replacement so I was saving it for posterity. But I hear you on taking the effort.

+1 @ effort vs. love vs. skill building.

Oh come on Scott. A couple of quick swipes and those ugly things will be a thing of the past.

Very nice shot otherwise and your edit looks better.

nice swipes Dave
I am at CS4. Probably doable there too and I know there are a number of methods. Which did you use?

I used a generic editing program for this rough edit but I would probably just use LR clone tool. I have PSE11 but rarely ever use it.

Scott,

Can you get to this place readily? Would love to see the same exact comp (minus those signs and powerline) with some more pleasing light.

Nice clone job Dave!

Cheers,

Jeff
