It had been ten years since the Blue Angles performed at the Point Magu Air Show in Southern California. They were as good as ever, although I thought the Breitling Jet Team from France was the standout. Because the L-39 Albatros jets they fly are slower, and because they have one addition airplane in their formation, this team was able to keep their performance closer to the airport. While nothing can beat the Blue Angles for tight formations and acts of daring, the Breathing team was more graceful and flowing IMHO. Of course Sean Tucker (Oracle) and Matt Chapman (Embry-Riddle) - regular performers at Magu - were excellent. The WW2 aircraft from the CAS are always a crowd pleaser. While not as many aircraft as in years past, this was never-the-less an excellent airshow.
