Alas, not many actual experiences shared here. At least Roger at Lens Rentals just reported on the OLAF results

Got mine last Friday but the weather has been terrible so I haven't had a chance to test it. Sadly, the weather here is supposed to remain terrible for at least another week. I may to hop on a plane someplace with clear skies to test it before my return window shuts, . I will say it's a big, heavy beast but not unmanageable on an ungripped D810.

Considering that many of us are looking at this lens for astrophotography, that really is the question more than ultimate sharpness.

I'm seriously considering about buying this one. There's some coma, but apparently not nearly as much as with 24 A.

Rob have you used the Nikon 20mm 1.8G on your A7R at all?

Sure does seem sharp, but is that teardrop shaped thing some sort of reflection to the left of the eye in the crop?

Photozone.de has reviewed the 20/1.4 - this time both on a 21MP camera and a 50MP one. The comparison between the results obtained with both of these bodies is a reason enough to read the review.

It's a pity that Sigma won't make their A series more suitable for "arty weather"...

The full frame coma is poor compared to other f2.8 options. You feel it is good enough for how fast it is? An f1.4 lens sharp without coma wide open would be wonderful to have. It would obviate the need for tracking gear.
Rob Dickinson has a nice review. He gets around the coma as part of his pano processing. With all the overlap, the corner coma never shows. Otherwise his tests show you probably want f2.2. That's close enough for me to f2.8 that I'd rather just take my Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 zoom.
Until then,
Alas, we track...

How about it. The distortion in the 16-35s is irritating.

Hi takowasa,

An UWA "ultra low distortion" rectilinear lens "designed to minimize coma aberration" might just solve my on-going aversion to shooting this wide. I am a fan of detail in my wide-angle nature shots and have had to resort to shooting panos at longer focal lengths (>24mm) to accomplish "this". Shooting a 17mm TS-E at 21MP on a 5D2 has left me wanting as this lens begs for more megapixels, IMHO. While I've I've been itching to get out with this lens with my recently acquired a7R B&S purchase for some tripod work, it is a rather cumbersome lens which
