Some concert shots from Warren Haynes' most recent "Ashes & Dust" tour. This tour is really different for him and really seems to have rejuvenated and energized him and his music!
The show was AWESOME!
Enjoy!

nice story telling images......100-125 ss and hardly any finger-motion blurring, excellent angle selections

Thanks Craig, but certainly some hair blurring! This was a tough shoot! No pit and seats that went right up to the stage!

Stuart,
Some nice captures and overall set.
I am rather suprised that you kept it at f4 instead of f2.8.
The 70-200 is a great concert lens that I'm also have had a lot of success using. I never have run into too shallow of a dof at f2.8. I do use the mark II version, and would understand more the f4 if you're using mk I.

Very nice work! I tend to try and stay at f4, too. (vr1)

Thanks Guy,
I like to try to stay ay f/4 if I am able, I think that the little extra dof is nice and the lens is sharpest there as well. Often times the situation will not allow me to do that!

I've got the Mk1 and Mk2 versions of the 70-200 and I find little difference between them. (Maybe I've got an exceptional Mk1 version...)

I'll happily shoot at F2.8 and be counting the eyelashes of a band member with either lens. (But at that F stop, plenty where I can't).
