I got an email from Profoto saying there are new firmwares available for the B1, B2, and TTL remotes... Anyone try them yet?

• Improved Canon integration for faster shooting in Manual Mode
• Option to deactivate auto power-off on all units
• Improved display sleep function on Air Remotes
• + 15 other minor bug fixes

Updated this am. I did notice that the bug indicating battery level on display now matches the level on the battery check.

I just noticed the same with my B1's. Nice

I wish the remote would display the current power of each group in manual mode. That's still the update I'm waiting for

I agree, impossible to remember the setting on 4 heads with 3 groups.

Good to hear about the battery indicator. I was discussing this with Profoto only a few days ago.

Well it worked perfectly on one unit. Another unit kept turning itself off and wouldn't turn back on unless I took the battery off and put it back on. It worked well enough to get through a shoot but it did turn off three times.

Was it going to sleep after inactivity or dying on you mid shoot?

It completely shut off about a minute or two after I powered it up. The second time it was in the middle of test shots.

I've got a location shoot tomorrow - I'll have to test both of my lights for that.

Have you tried running the firmware update tool again on it?

It's not showing up when I plug it in and try to run the installer.

Try a different computer (or operating system). For whatever reason, I can update some Profoto items using my workstation (Win 7) and other times I need to resort to using my Surface Pro (Win 8.1). Workstation won't pick up the light when USB plugged in, but the SP recognizes it and I can complete the update on firmware. (Same thing last Profoto fw update too). Go figure.

Be sure before you do the update that you hold in the test button for a full minute or more. One of my units I had the same type problem. Or be sure it is powered off for at least 15+ minutes. Second time it worked fine. The only problem I have is the part where you are suppose to be able to power on a group after the one hour time period. As with all Profoto documentation there is not a explanation yet as to how to set it up for that.

Hope this helps.

Caution: If you have upgraded to OS X El Capitan your tethering will not work with Lightroom. I discovered this 1 hour before a session.

Lol, I contacted Profoto support and they said to send it in for an estimate. Thanks!

I was able to reinstall the firmware from my laptop. We'll see how it goes.

Ouch that's got to hurt...!

I always keep a full system backup so I can go back straight away when ever I make any big changes to my system. Hopefully you had the same.

Good to know. I'll have to test it on my machine to see if LR has updated to OS X 10.11 yet.

They just upgraded lightroom today. However I still cannot get tethering to work. It does open image capture in El Capitan but as of yet no luck with lightroom cc. also lightroom crashes when trying to import photo's.

I'll try mine this afternoon to see if it works for me or not. I haven't upgraded LR yet but I do have El Capitan loaded.
