p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · 7dii w/ Yongnuo 622c and 622TXC sleep issue?

I was using my 7dii w/ Yongnuo 622c and 622TXC.

This was with a Canon 430ex.

I had a problem whereby if the 430ex was on but went to sleep, the camera and TX wouldn't wale it up, I had to cycle the flash on/off.

Can anyone confirm / deny that their flash will get woken from sleep mode?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I am pretty sure there is a setting on the flash that you can turn off the sleep setting. I had to do that on my 550,580 and 600

I just found this, will have to give it a try:

Flash Wake-up and Test Firing

There is a Test button on the YN-622-TX, and it works to test fire the flashes. Even better, it is a fast way to wake up sleeping transmitters. If you haven’t fired your flashes in a little while, the transmitters go to “sleep” to save battery power. Simply press the Test button on the TX once to wake them up. It worked for me, and is a nice feature.

So it was the YN's that went to sleep...I didnt know this
I will have to try this.
I went into custom functions of the flash and turned auto off to off
C.Fn-01 – Auto power off
0: ON (Enabled)
1: OFF (Disabled)
When set to
0
the flash will automatically “go to sleep” after
90 seconds of inactivity. It does this to conserve battery
power. You can “wake” the flash by tapping your camera’s
shutter button or the test flash button on the flash. If you
set this function to
1
the flash will stay on until you switch
it off or the battery runs out of power.

Thanks for the info.... in my case actually the Flash went to sleep, not the Yongnuos.
However, I also had some connectivity issues and once I separated all the Yongnuos from the flash and camera and put it back together, everything started working again properly with the flash: zoom, exposure, wakeup (upon shutter press), etc. The Test Button still worked as brute force wake up.

My suggestion was for your flash and not the Yongnuos! Go into custom functions on your flash and disable auto off

Yes, I understand, but now I know that the Yongnuo's will wake the flash, i prefer they go to sleep.
