even at the prices these trinkets go for, i could get one for free now, if i had collected a penny each time i saw a great scene, took my aviators off to take a picture and the scene looked like... oh well... so, does it exist? they should definitely make one

<-- dat's moi in the aviators

I have no idea what you just said.

I honestly feel slightly dumber after reading that.

I think you can now do it with the Ray-Ban plug in for PS.

I've used my sunglasses as a filter before. If you can pop your lens out and just hold it against the front of the filter ring. Lol I understood

all you want is a decent polarizer and the rest is photoshop. for tint and contrast. Done. Shoot raw, obviously.

or by a Sing-Ray filter - almost the same thing, just costs more than the Ray-Bans...

Just hit the "make better" button in Photoshop.

Polarizer. B+W Kaesemann and Zeiss T* ones seem the best made now, but all grades of Nikon, Hoya, B+W, or Zeiss, are all good.

Haha, I totally get it! I wear nothing but polarised Oakley sunglasses. You see a great scene, take off your sunglasses, lift the camera to your eye and.... WTF? Never leave home without my CPL filters now.

are all aviators polarized? i thought i had cheapo ones, never noticed any reflection cut... it's more about the pleasant warmth i guess... throttling bandwidth in some parts of the spectrum... like, the digi blue sky is rubbish in every straight file i've ever seen, easier to swallow through aviators

definitely not polarizing, just checked... and the hue is kinda warmishgreyishgreenish, nowhere near an 81A, for example

ah, oakleys, my instructor swore by his, cutting the glare off the panel nicely... mine are just cheep student aviators

Well, i own a pair of ray ban polarized sunglasses. Every day, especially during the summer at seascapes i feel the need to pass the pair to whoever is with me just to see the difference..... If there was a rayban filter i would be the first one to get it. I havent managed to reproduce that effect in photoshop + any of my polarize filters. Just try a polarized pair and you uderstand what i am talking about. They have a small p next to RayBan

It's called a polarizer.

Hmmm... really ... well then they are filtering certain wavelengths of light. Find that out and see if you can find a filter that does the same.

OP: My thoughts exactly! Wearing Aviators with brown glass, the world looks warmer, nicer, more pleasant. Would love a proper lens filter with the exact same look.
