I was out shooting this past weekend and I had the flash on camera and I was in Tv mode with shutter at 1/500 and flash on high speed synch The issue was with Auto ISO....I had it set to auto iso and it would always revert to ISO400 when I would use the flash. Any idea why I could not shoot in Tv with the flash at a higher ISO?? Do I have something set wrong??

Set your ISO manually. Maybe auto ISO will not work with your flash.

That is what I had to do. I was just alternating between flash and no flash and extreme lighting from sunny to cloudy in the woods

Auto ISO is "too" much of a wild card for the camera to determine good flash....

Also...since you were using HSS.....that is when the flash is almost a constant light
(in the mind of the camera)...so it in turn went to 400 thinking it was balanced.

Lock the ISO....and you'll get better results
