p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · First Trees Turning

I was in RMNP over the holiday weekend, and saw some trees just starting to change in a few places. This was a handheld shot with my newly acquired 5DSr (see previous posts in Canon gear forum about what happened to my tripod, (sigh)) so perhaps not as sharp as the camera can produce, and yet it still looks pretty good to me eye.

Comments and critique welcome, and thanks for looking.

ML

Hey Mike,

It looks like fall color will be here very soon! A nice shot to show that, there are some nice angles in this one. I think I would crop off the bottom though, that band of yellow at the bottom seems to distract s bit.

Nice shot.

Would have been funny to bump into you. I was just there for sunrise a week ago during the holiday weekend, mostly looking for moose. Did the elk serenade you?

Jim,

Thanks for the comment on the crop, I'll have to try that.

David,

it is always fun to bump into a fellow scenic shooter! Wish we had run into each other! Are you living in the area? I live between Boulder and Longmont...

Brad,

Yes I think it actually is all beetle kill. it is very interesting as it seems more prevalent right now on the western side and not as bad on the eastern side.

Here is another shot I took just from a slightly different angle, wondering if folks like thisd version more or less than the original post...
