p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A Real Snake in the Grass

I was out with the wife in a local conservation park looking to some wildlife to shoot when I nearly stepped on this little guy getting some morning sun. Thankfully my wife spotted him before anything happened!

Southern Copperhead for any curious.

Thanks for looking!

Jeff

Nothing like stepping on a venomous snake to get the old adrenaline racing through the veins. Been there with a Mozambique Spitting Cobra...and oddly, or maybe not so much....my first thought was to take a photo1
Very nice images both in color and black and white....and congrats on not making the snake waste any venom on you!

These are all very well done Jeff. You should have taken the snake home so that you could have another session with it ~ Ron

Thanks Eric! I bet that run in with the cobra was wild. I've read that they can accurately shoot their venom from something like 7-10ft away - no thanks!! But I would want to get a shot of that. This guy was very docile.

Thanks Ron! I'm not sure Angela would have been cool with that.

Thanks louie! If I saw it flinch I'd be moving and quickly.

Thanks Roberta! I am very glad I didn't either - hospitals are no fun.
