I am not keeping up with my image processing, So just a small contribution this morning.
This midge was intermediate in size between the tiny ones any huge ones I have posted, around 1cmm long. It was on senescing Goldenrod flowers for at least 20 minutes. I got a lot of images, with both my reversed HM 40 and my Kiron 105mm. The midge was holding itself low against the flowers so angles were not ideal.
With its sprawl of long legs and tiny head, this subject needs two levels of magnification, these being at the higher one, FOV 6mm wide. Twin TTL flash was used, one free-standing, f16, hand-held.
There are more images to come but here is my first HM40 uncropped, cross-eye stereo pair.
