Light is starting to disappear faster...and we won't mention the amount of rain lately...argh! Higher ISO now coming into play. BTW: do you remember to capture the ref's once in a while? Matt,
I honestly think this is one of your strongest sets...
You get a much nicer ref Jersey color than our neon yellow ones (soccer), and solid neon green (field hockey) up here.

Are you really boosting the contrast or Sharpening? The edges really stick out.

Some tiny critique that will amp them even more.
3. Maybe try cropping just above head of the white player for more concentrated viewing. Also, maybe 1-2degrees counter clockwise to fix verticals.
2. Clone or crop out that extra white cleat on the lower right
1. Crop Extra dead space on right including the green neon guy in he background. Also check magenta tint.

Hey Guy, appreciate the comments. Thanks!

1. Std 5x7 format here for the parent, but did adjust the tone from what the AWB had done. Good color eye fella

2. Lazy, what can I say. Turned out to be tricky since the cleat spanned both grass and b/g.
3. I straightened it a bit more but did not care for the tighter crop.

Edges, I've seen this before and it seems to happen randomly. I've reprocessed these and #5 to force a low screen sharpening. See changes below:

1. tone adjusted

2. no cleat

3. re-leveled

Yeah, 3's crop is one of those hard and personal decisions on cutting or keeping the extraneous body :-)

To be fare to other readers, I did explore a tighter crop for #3 before picking the wider, more inclusive version. Another tighter version is this one. One concern in this case was for the higher ISO and amount of crop necessary as both can quickly degrade the final output. You be the judge if it holds up.

As Guy points out, cropping can be highly subjective but regardless, there are alternatives (others can see) in what you post.
