Yeah but all my gear is in a couple of boxes in the garage. Haven't keyed a transmitter in years, Ought to catch back up with things but too much else going on these days.

Sure ... been a ham since I was 7 years old (mid 60s now). Don't use it much today ... the internet is too easy.

Nope. I had some gear, but never set up a decent antenna. I also had the CB back in the 70s. It seems like ancient times.

I think more people get their HAM license these days to operate FPV (First Person View) Drones vs radios. The video channels used fall into those assigned to Amateur Radio use.

Yup. But the gear's been boxed up since moving to an HOA neighborhood. Never got around to bothering with a stealthy antenna. Kind of miss the summertime static crashes though.

Yep. Been licensed since the early 60s. Sort of like Microdol, D76, and E4. Ya never forget it!!!

I am but usually don't monitor this forum. Just caught your post in the lineup from the opening page.
Extra Class, DX Honor Roll, used to do a ton of it.
Now only active on my UHF repeater.
Good Luck to you on your test.
There are a lot of people taking their ham license for County Emergency Services, RACES, ESDA, things like that.
Glad to hear about video with drones, model airplanes for the same thing years ago.

I am a ham, but only got my ticket a few years back for VHF/UHF emergency uses. It is one little part of me trying to be a bit prepared for our large earthquake that I hope will not happen in my lifetime.

My memory is not that great these days, but I do have a strong technical background. I think I studied too much for the test, because I ended up with a result of 100%, which I found hard to believe. So all the best of luck on your test, but you may not need the luck to pass.

Licensed back in 1977, upgraded through the tests to Advanced Class. Along the way decided to keep my original call letters. Now they are somewhat sought after on the HF bands as not too many have the prefix anymore. WD8PAQ "Peace And Quiet"
